Planned Non-Operation (PNO) in San Jose, CA

Not driving the vehicle for a while? File Planned Non-Operation and stop paying full registration fees while it sits, without penalties when you bring it back.

Good to know

PNO must be filed before the registration expires, or within 90 days after expiration with penalties. While on PNO the vehicle cannot be driven, towed or parked on public streets. When you are ready to drive again, we reinstate the registration and print the sticker.
